When we launched Jollydays Luxury Camping in May 09 it was the culmination of a 10 year dream, to live simply and work locally. We wanted to leave the rat race behind and grow a business that would nurture our family life, enhance the local community and introduce others to the joys of rural life. Our dream was to redefine the British camping holiday – we designed huge vintage style tents and filled them with customised furniture, roll top baths, wood burners and 4 posters. A cake tent, hundreds of metres of bunting and a central campfire completes the nostalgic, friendly vibe.
The splendid folks at Bannisters’ Farm are running a competition at the moment to win a £450 voucher to spend on a Jollydays break.
Bannisters’ are a fabulous Yorkshire company based just up the road in the wolds – they have a delicious range of oven baked potatoes and snacks (with no added nasties!)
I can’t get enough of their cheese and jalapeño potato skins – yum!

Jollydays is having a bit of a moment with stylists this year. Today we have a lovely team from Rohan. They’re filming a gorgeous summer shoot – here are some behind the scene pics (mercifully the sun’s shining!)

We’ve been incredibly busy over the last few weeks putting together a gorgeous new wedding brochure (coming soon). We’ve pulled together an incredible team of dedicated and talented individuals, who can organise everything from a festival inspired day to a 3 day long, Kate Moss inspired extravaganza…

Nunnington is a lovely National Trust property, a pretty half an hour journey from the camp.
It’s always been one of my favourite country houses – not too big, cosy, charming and full of character.
I took my 15 year old and 7 year old daughters and they both loved it. In the attics you’ll find the most amazing collection of house miniatures, with tiny needlepoint rugs and exquisite furniture – Angel was entranced. I was left wondering just how much of her life one lady had devoted to creating such marvellous things!
The tea shop is an absolute treat and we can’t recommend the homemade scones with clotted cream highly enough!
